A Jar of Honey, A Heart Full of Memory

The Story Behind Our Honey

When my grandmother passed away, I felt an emptiness that couldn’t be filled with words. She was the heart of our family — strong, nurturing, and full of quiet wisdom. In the week of her funeral, I found myself drawn to the places she loved most. One of those places was her small garden (shamba), where bees often buzzed around the flowers she had planted with care.

It was during that time — a moment of grief and reflection — that I started learning more about bees, honey, and the natural world she had always cherished. I visited local beekeepers, asked questions, tasted different honeys, and slowly, I began to heal. The search for something to hold onto became a discovery of something new: a deep passion for beekeeping and a desire to share nature’s purity with others.

That journey led to the founding of our honey business here in Kericho, Kenya, where the highland climate and blooming flora create the perfect conditions for rich, golden honey. Each jar we harvest is more than just a product — it’s a continuation of her spirit, a tribute to her love for the land, and a reminder that from loss, something beautiful can grow.

Thank you for being part of our story.
